Dr. Kevin Schlang received his Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Texas at Austin before earning his DDS from the UCLA School of Dentistry. He completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Kokua Kalihi Valley, followed by specialty training in endodontics at the University of California, San Francisco, where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Kevin is committed to education and community service. He volunteers as a clinical instructor for residents at both Kokua Kalihi Valley and Waikiki Health, finding it deeply rewarding to give back to the clinics and community that helped shape his early career. In addition, he provides annual dental care to underserved villages in Fiji through the Fiji Medical and Dental Foundation.
Dr. Kevin’s care, compassion and skill have proudly earned him Best Dentist in Hawai‘i by Honolulu Magazine every year. Outside the office, Dr. Kevin enjoys surfing and golfing, and loves spending time with his wife and colleague, Dr. Daphne Chung, who shares those same passions.
Dr. Daphne Chung is an endodontist who brings a calm, thoughtful, and detail-oriented approach to patient care. Known for her gentle chairside manner, she is dedicated to helping patients feel comfortable while receiving precise, evidence-based treatment. Originally from South Korea, Dr. Chung earned her Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA and completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She remained at UCSF for her specialty training in endodontics, where she met Dr. Kevin.
Dr. Chung has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in endodontics and is a contributing author of a textbook on the clinical approach to regenerative endodontics. Her research has earned significant recognition, including multiple awards from the Journal of Endodontics (JOE)—the highest-ranked and most respected endodontic journal in the world. She has also been named Best Dentist in Hawai‘i by Honolulu Magazine every year, reflecting her clinical excellence and the trust she has built within the community.
She has participated in dental outreach trips to Panama, Honduras, and Jamaica, experiences that have deepened her commitment to compassion-driven care. Outside the operatory, Dr. Chung enjoys surfing, golfing, and hot yoga. She and Dr. Kevin are grateful to call Hawai‘i home and feel privileged to serve the community through Paradise Endodontics.
